Laura Clark is an Environmental Studies (EVST) major, with a minor in Political Science. She will graduate from the University of Connecticut in December of 2021. This summer Laura has been working with a team of individuals to develop content for the UConn Environmental Studies Department website. This will provide current and incoming EVST majors with a better idea of the interdisciplinary nature of the major, by showcasing the jobs and accomplishments of past and current students, sharing potential job opportunities, and promoting class options for upcoming semesters. Laura has developed her social media and writing skills, which she hopes will generate new opportunities for her following graduation.
After transitioning to online classes during the spring 2020 semester, Laura found herself able to sign up for more classes and branch out during the summer and fall periods. She took political science courses including Global Environmental Politics, which led her to declare her Political Science minor. She was able to complete the minor this summer with a rigorous class schedule. Laura has utilized the flexibility of online classes and her social media work to gain valuable skills this summer. This has gotten her more involved in the UConn community and allowed her to share events and milestones with EVST students.
